The Deh Cho Bridge, a 1.1 km cable-stayed structure on Highway 3, connects Yellowknife to the rest of Canada and serves as a vital transportation link. In 2023, a cable failure occurred just days before Yellowknife’s evacuation due to wildfires, creating an urgent need for inspection and repairs.

Access BridgeWorks was contracted to support the emergency response, using a snooper truck to provide engineers safe access for inspecting cables and anchorage components beneath the bridge deck. They also recovered the failed cable from the Mackenzie River and transported it to Vancouver for forensic testing. Through rapid mobilization and specialized equipment, Access BridgeWorks ensured the bridge’s safety and stability during this critical time.
