In 2022, spring flooding destroyed the sole access bridge to the remote Tanco Mine in eastern Manitoba, halting operations. Access BridgeWorks was contracted to install a temporary access bridge and rapidly construct a durable 29-meter single-span replacement bridge featuring folded steel plate girders, precast deck panels, and rock-socketed pipe piles.
During construction, unexpected slope instability required the removal, reconstruction, and stabilization of both roadway embankments. Despite these challenges, Access BridgeWorks collaborated with stakeholders to adapt the design and maintain progress, showcasing their expertise in delivering critical infrastructure in remote and complex conditions.
